Uner 12s Match Report Saturday 16th February 08 - Result: St Mary’s FC 2 Aquinas 4
Twenty minutes in and looking ok! Good endeavour, spirit and play, we lost the 1st goal at the third corner we had conceded, an own goal. We lost the 2nd goal just before half time, a poor one to lose, a run through on our keeper after a poor challenge.
The St Mary's boys at the start of the 2nd half had a good go at Aquinas and we got back into the game with a turn and shot from Paddy McD that the goalie parried and from left midfield, Paddy Robb had followed the play and scored from the rebound. More good play kept on coming with Gregory, Aiden and Fintan coming to the fore. Our best chance to get level from a Ruiari D free kick, goalie saved it and young Robb hit the post from the follow up!!
Aquinas livened up and got a corner which should have been easily dealt with and bang a free header, 3-1 down. We got ourselves up the pitch and had pressure from a free kick deep in Aquinas's half. They broke 2v2 and made it 4v1. We kept at it and 2 minutes from time Paddy McD scored with a header from G.McFaul corner.
A good team display with individual errors costing us .
