St Mary’s U12’s Match Report 10th November 2007 against S.O.P.Y.C
Taking on the league leaders on a windy morning proved to be our best effort of the season so far. We played against the breeze and slope in the first half and went in 3 v1 down. Paddy Robb playing upfront for the first time since the opening game of the season, finished a move started by Philip Doherty in a central area, and the ball was moved out wide right where Gregory and Kevin combined well with Kevin's cross well finished by Robb; am glad his old man was spectating.
Into the second half with the elements at our back we dominated and were rewarded with two well taken goals by Paddy McD. Several other opportunities passes us by, but at 3v3 with 5 mins left we looked like we could get a fourth. However we allowed Plunketts to get a corner and gave them a fine header to re take the lead and with the last kick of the game their Nos 7 Packy lobbed our goalie
Lots of positives have been taken by the result and the kids have set a standard to go on from. An excellent effort by all special word for Emmet Nulty - well played
