Match Report Saturday 4th October 2008 - Under 13 Result: St Mary’s FC 4 Crusaders 0
A few changes made to the starting 11 on a very wet morning in North Belfast. St Mary's dominated the first half and were solid at the back with Ruairi D and Finton coming to the fore. In the middle of the park Peter Healy with AO'K on the left wing and wee Paddy up front were linking well together and creating loads of chances and none been taken.
Eventually we got the first goal by a cleaver lob by wee McD, the ball was heading in, but Declan B had to make sure of the goal by tapping it in.
Phil Doherty replaced David Bannon with 6 mins of the first half to go, but missed chances by many of the team and it finished 1 nil at half time.
Second half resumed, Kevin H replaced Aiden B at right back. Early pressure in the crus box and Aiden O'K nodded in at the far post and it was 2 nil.
Immediately after, 2 subs on; Emmet N replaced A O'K at left midfield and Padraig L replaced Declan B at right mid field and continuous pressure, and Padraig L with almost his first touch half volleyed in from 14 yards.
The conditions were making life awkward with puddles on the pitch. This caused lots of frustration in the crus area with the ball stopping in the water at the right time for them, but the wrong time for us!!!
On one of these occasions the ball broke to Peter H on the D and he clipped a nice right footer in the ost; 4 nil.
Right at the end a nice move from Emmet M, he run through and struck the post and Philip D managed to put the rebound into their goalies arms, another miss!
Oran Connor came on with 10 mins to go to replace Lusty
