Match Report Saturday 15th December 2007 - Result: St Mary’s FC 2 Oldpark 2
As per previous encounters this Under 17 SBYFL derby match between St Mary's and Oldpark who currently lie first and third respectively turned out to be a tight and exciting match.
St Mary's starting strongly with Ryan McAuley going close and a strong Declan Hackett header being cleared off the line. Indeed on 27 minutes Oldpark themselves took the lead when a strike from outside the penalty area crept in at the right hand post.
St Mary's battled back and deservedly equalised just before half time when Conor Saunders headed home from a corner.
Second half was equally committed and on 55 minutes Michael O'Reilly scored from the penalty spot after a foul on Ryan McAuley. Oldpark responded and with 10 minutes to go a low free kick found the corner of the net to earn a hard fought draw.
