31st January 2012 - Under 9
 
We currently have three teams at Under 9 which are entered in the IFA mini soccer 7 a side small sided games at olympia leisure centre.  John Joe Walsh is the manager and also club Chairman, there are  five coaches who are Brendan Carlin, Jim McCabe,Neil Maguire, Lauren Moore and Jenny Waide.T here are 28 players at this age group. We have three teams St Marys athletic,St Marys boys and St Marys colts.

 

2011/12 season was the first year we have entered the IFA mini soccer and have prove that we are one off the best clubs in this programme.One of the rules of this programme is the promote fun and enjoyment for all players.Ifa dont allow you to keep scores or publicise results.

 

We have started the 2012 with a flying start, beating North Belfast Utd 6-2 in a friendly pre season match.  This is the first time that North Belfast utd have been beating from starting the IFA mini soccer programme in September. So very well done boys!!

 
26th September 2011 - Child Protection Officer
 
All parents are asked to ensure they are familiar with John Meighan who is our main child protection officer within St Mary's FC.  His photograph and contact details can be found on the Club Committee page.  John is the first point of contact for any parent, manager or coach who feels there is an issue under the parameters of the Club's Child Protection Policy. 
 
The Club is also training two additional officers, whose names and details will be made available in due course.  Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contacte either John or a member of the Committee. 
 
12th September 2011 - IFA Mini-Soccer Results
 
Due to the rules and regulations set out by the IFA for the Mini-Soccer League we are unable to publish any results for the Under 8, Under 9 and Under 10 teams. 
 
The emphasis in this league is about development and not results focused, thereby enabling the children to enjoy football without the pressure of scorelines. 
 
We will still upload match reports after each game to keep everyone informed of each team's development throughout the season. 
 
11th September 2011 - IFA Level 1 Course
 
Seven coaches commenced a 3 day Level 1 coaching course run by the IFA at Mossley Mill, Newtownabbey.  The course is being run by Steven Livingstone, IFA Grassroots Development Officer over 3 Sundays in September. 
 
Each day runs from 9 - 5pm covering coaching theory tasks, dynamic warm ups, speed and agility, practical games, demonstrations, child protection training, with a final overall examination.  There are 17 participants of which 7 are from St Marys FC - Frank O'Kane, Peter Stewart, John Meighan, Michael Fearon, Jim Smyth, Paul Connolly and Brian Byrne.  Other coaches are from Ballyclare Colts, Barn Utd, Antrim Rovers and Carnmoney Colts.
 
August 2011
 
Pre-season training for all teams commences on Monday 8th August 2011 at Mallusk Playing Fields.  6.30pm - 8.30pm
 
June 2011
 
New Committee elected, with two new office bearers.  New Chairman is John Joe Walsh and Denise Burns is the new Club Secretary.  Brian Byrne will continue as Treasurer.

This event will be held in the Christian Brothers Club on the Antrim Road.  More details will follow.....
 
St Mary's Gala Fundraising Ball - 23rd June 2012
 
The Gala Black Tie ball will be held in the Lansdowne Hotel, Belfast.  Tickets are priced at £25 each which includes a three course dinner, entertainment and a ballot for the Prize draw Raffle for a car.  Tickets go on sale in February and can be purchased by contacting a member of the Fundraising Committee. 

ST MARY'S FC MONTHLY DISCO (12-14 YRS)

 
St Mary's will now be running a monthly junior disco in the new St Mary's hall behind St Bernard's Church.  The discos will be held the first Friday of every month with the next one on Friday 2nd March 2012. 
 
Admission is £3.00, with the disco running from 7.30pm - 10pm each month.
 
Any parents wishing to volunteer as supervisors for any disco should contact the club through the email or our Facebook page.
